You may have noticed a new widget on the side of my usual ramblings, looking like this:
So what is a Hollaback Health Blogger you ask?
We are healthy living bloggers who are on a mission to break the health blogging mold. We believe there’s more than one way to live a healthy life and there’s more than one way to write about it. We feel that health blogs are starting to struggle and, well…that sh*t is bananas.
We stand by this firmly, and when people disagree with our way of doing things, we will respond — not necessarily by the bleachers, but we’re cool with hollering back if we need to, along with our band of other renegade health bloggers.
We encourage all bloggers to find their own unique voices, to be creative and innovative, and to inspire others.
I never considered my blog to fit into one category as I’m not 100% committed to any “style” of blogging. My silly niche of part food blog/part healthy balancing/part CLE love keeps me unique. I am HONORED to be now included with this amazing group of ladies. Check out some of these recent fantastic posts from my fellow Hollaback Girls:
“Blame It on the Rain” by Johana at My Quirky Life: People want to make excuses for their weight, but as Johana puts it, “you can’t go and blame it on genetics when nearly every morning you scarf down a breakfast burrito filled with eggs, cheese, potatoes AND bacon.” AMEN SISTA.
“Why I’m Not Running” by Leah at Nutritionista: Some of us are just not meant to be runners. I’m coming to the realization that I might be one of these people. This post helped me to realize that it is perfectly okay.
“Does Your Mom Read Your Blog” by Rachel at Shedding It & Getting It: A must read just for these new words to live by: “I know a lot of people water down what they’ll put on a blog out of fear of what people will think or say… but having an opinion, passion, and a point of view and having tagged pics of you doing keg stands are not the same thing.”
My first post will be coming up in the near future, but make sure to add Hollaback Health to your Google Readers: I’m sure you’ll thank me for it later!
