Can you believe it is already the middle of March? My birthday is going to be here before you know it! (Don’t worry, you have until July to find the perfect gift!) To pretend that I have some accountability still, let’s review the resolutions I set for myself back in January and give a grade to each:
Keep blogging. If I say so myself, I rock at this one! In all seriousness, I’m glad that I decided to keep the blog going in 2010. I feel like it’s become a nice hobby – in the limited amount of free time that I have! I hope you all get as much of a kick out of it as I do. If not, that’s for pretending!! Grade: A.
Drink more water. It’s just something about the cold weather that makes me want to chug a large mug of tea. Over and over again. I think with the warm temperatures on the way, I’ll be more apt to chug some H2O instead. Grade: F.
Make my house a home. We’re still planning to redo the kitchen and family room this Spring, but otherwise, are in a holding pattern. Papa LaVecchia is on the search for a new door frame – that’s a long story for another blog post. Now if Hans and I could only agree on countertops and paint color… Grade: C.
Find happiness. 2010 was a turning point for me on many levels. I am proud to say that I haven’t been this happy in a very long time! I attribute this to finding a new job, eliminating extra stress from my life, and trying to not be “in control” all the time. It’s working. Grade: A
More yoga. Less kickboxing and elliptical. My unlimited class pass to Nishkama Yoga expired, which bums me out. I really enjoyed my Saturday mornings in Laura’s Power Yoga class. In turn, I started going back to Saturday AM kickboxing – which I LOVE SO MUCH. If only the two didn’t overlap!!! I need to make the investment in a class pass and get my ass back to yoga class. Grade: D.
Become a runner. I was continuing to make progress, as I continue to build on my running stamina, but I was starting to let this one slip. However, I’ve taken a big move in the right direction. To motivate myself, I have signed myself up for my FIRST 5K!!!!
I will be participating in the City2City5K to benefit Providence House on Sunday, April 11. My goal is to run (alright, jog) the entire 3.1 mile course. I’ve continued my variation on the Couch to 5K Plan and think I can do it! Run, Alicia, Run! Grade: B.
SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO: I managed to schedule a few recent lunch meetings at Chinato and The Greenhouse Tavern (which was just featured on Food Network’s “Best Thing I Ever Ate”). Have I mentioned lately that I heart my job?!
