Motivate Me Day Three Tip:
YOUR BODY AS YOUR VEHICLE FOR SUCCESS
No, you don’t have to become a vegan. Or cleanse your body by drinking ridiculous combos on lemon juice and maple syrup. I’m just asking you to eat foods that are closer to their raw state a few more times a week than you are already. Remember, you’re supposed to be getting two servings of fruits and three servings of veggies every day.
Think of it as fueling your car: when you put the higher grade gasoline in the tank, the better your car performs.
And while there are many products on the market today that tote themselves as “health food” or “sports nutrition”, even this active.com article notes “Energy bars are more about convenience than necessity. Bananas, yogurt, fig cookies and granola bars offer convenient fuel at a fraction of the price.” That’s why I favor a banana and some cranberries before a Clif bar before any workout – less work for my stomach to have to do while I’m working out, the better.
So eat a few more salads – your body will thank you for it!
