Today’s POINT OF BALANCE: I need to have the four tips from How to Stop Multitasking and Lower Stress on health.com tattooed to my forehead. At least I know I’m REALLY GOOD at the first tip!
Knowing how my Thursday evenings have been panning out as of late (AKA not going to 6:30PM kickboxing), I decided to shake it up and make it a morning workout kind of day. I ate a banana on the way to the gym – I didn’t hit a single red light on the way there!
However on the ride there, I realized something wasn’t right… or that I wasn’t seeing right. I realized that my left contact never made it in my eye! It was time for me to change contacts anyways, so I took out my right contact and still managed my usual AM workout:
- Four 15 minute sets on the elliptical
- 3 sets of 15 on the captain’s chair
- 3 sets of 10 on the leg press machine
- 3 sets of 10 on the push down machine
- stretching to cool down
Once home safe (luckily my vision isn’t TOO bad!), I threw together a quick breakfast before heading off to work:
I enjoyed the usual coffee on the way into work and a cup of tea around 11:30AM so that I would have some coworkers to eat lunch with. I work in an office with only about ten full time staff, so lunch time is much like the entire family coming together. You miss out on lunch time, you miss out on a lot!
Over the next two days, my wraps/sandwiches will be lunch meat inspired (as I have a bunch of ham to use up before Saturday!):
The wrap had ham, sprouts, roma tomato, mushrooms and feta cheese. It was fantastic with that gala apple. I finished off lunch with 1/2 a fun size Hershey bar. It was tempting but I stayed away from those London truffles!
The one great thing about being away from work for a week: you get super motivated the week before to get things done! After a solid afternoon of work, I needed some low-fat blackberry yogurt to get me to dinner time. I apparently REALLY needed it because I forgot to take a picture! Ooops! Silly food blogger!
Since Hans was working hard again late tonight, I looked to the “other man” in my life for dinner: Trader Joe!
In my mission to use up my veggies and bread before the weekend, I sauted up some white onion, eggplant and mushrooms with one of TJ’s precooked sun-dried tomato flavored chicken sausage. I then heated up some TJ’s low sodium organic creamy tomato soup. Once everything was nice and hot, it all ended up in one bowl for a great weeknight stoup!
Tonight: off the the library to pick up some reading materials for the next week, then enjoying the Cavs game with the hubby… and maybe I’ll actually start packing already!
