Hey Clevelanders! Did you know that the Cleveland Comedy Festival is back for its second year from November 4th – 8th, with “more than 60 stand-up comedians and 4 different sketch and improv comedy groups demonstrating just how funny Cleveland is.”
As promised, there was snacking last night during BL:
…and right before bed:
Once a month, I have a SUPER EARLY work meeting (even super early for me!) that always seems to put a cramp in my breakfast routine. This AM however, once I was done getting ready, I found that I was STARVING and needed a solid breakfast. Knowing it was still early, I had just enough time to throw together this homemade egg mcmuffin:
Considering how rushed I was to get it made, it was surprisingly delicious! And I managed to eat it in the car without getting it all over my dress!
Post meeting, I treated myself to my first purchase of a Starbucks red holiday cup: grande Pike Place with two pumps of gingerbread flavor syrup. I used to treat myself with a latte once a month – they days of these early meetings. While the few full calories pumps were definitely a splurge for today, it helped to power me thru the morning!
With my rush out the door this AM, I was dependent on my fridge stash at the office. I prepared earlier in the week and depended on some frozen help:
By adding broccoli, mushrooms and 2/3 cup of leftover WW noodles, it turned into this:
I’ve been SO good at work lately: avoiding the leftover Halloween candy, passing up birthday cake, not buying lunches when I can make my own creations in our kitchen. But I couldn’t pass up this post lunch treat! It was color coded – the pink meant strawberry filling inside:
Since I knew it was another later evening at the office, I enjoyed this late afternoon snack:
While I should have been a patient wife and waited for my hubby, I decided that the sweet potato in my pantry was calling my name. For dinner, I took a buffalo chicken sausage, a sweet potato, sauted veggies (eggplant, roma tomato and spinach) and a bit of mozzarella cheese to make this:
I probably didn’t need to eat that entire bowl. But I did. And it was awesome and kept me warm. Those Cleveland winter temps are headed this way! I feel as though I’ve been a bottomless pit today! At least I feel good about the meal choices along the way – even with the few treats thrown in!
I’m hoping that starchy potato eases me into an early bed time. But I’m going to have to skip tonight’s Top Chef if I’m hoping for an early AM workout!
