The rest of our Halloween evening was spent with friends. At least I know we were looking good:
I didn’t document the evening, but know that there were some poor beverage choices made by all in attendance! Luckily, I was DD so I didn’t do nearly as much damage as others. At the party, I managed to stay away from the treats and just have three BBQ potato chips – darn you Dandee! I did cave however and some ice cream was enjoyed around 1AM once we made it home safe.
On to Sunday AM breakfast: I have a bunch of english muffins in my bread stash, so you might be seeing a lot of these in the next few days:
Today’s lunch was inspired by blog land: I’ve seen a bunch of bloggers try out this method for a PASTA TOSS, so you know I had to jump on board. Originally found on Carrots & Cake last week, that blogger used Laughing Cow cheese wedges. I thought I could recreate it using one light Babybel cheese wheel with some WW egg noodles, shrimp, broccoli and spinach:
Maybe I needed more cheese, or a cheese that was more of a cream cheese, but my sub didn’t work quite as well. Still tasty – I ate the entire bowl – I’ll just have to try it again!
I had a 3:15PM pre-nap snack of a gala apple:
Does Daylight Savings Time seriously screw up anyone else? I can never remember which way the clocks go, then I’m all thrown off for the entire day following the switch. I needed that nap just to get myself sorted out!
Thank God for Hans: dinner was a “lazy night” standby of turkey burgers and salad:
I’m foreseeing a large cup of tea at my parents’ house in a bit, followed by some snack during The Next Iron Chef!
TODAY’S POINT OF BALANCE: With the beginning of a new month, I’m focusing on motivating myself to finding a healthier me. Today’s tidbit of knowledge is from “10 Will Powers for Improving Body Image” written by Michael Levine, Ph.D. and Linda Smolak, Ph.D.:
“I will treat my body with respect and kindness. I will feed it, keep it active, and listen to its needs. I will remember that my body is the vehicle that will carry me to my dreams.”
Sure – a little on the cheesy side there at the end, but a great way to inspire this month of motivation!
