So I decided to start my first full day in blogger land trying out the recap of what I had to eat today:
8AM breakfast consisted of this bowl of goodness:
A glorious way to start the day! This bowl was made with:
-1/2 cup old fashion oats
-1/4 Whole Foods bulk bins granola
-about 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
-lots of cinnamon
-sprinkle of nutmeg
-one splenda packet
All microwaved for two minutes and you’re good to go! I’m a big fan of oatmeal, so you’ll see an assortment of mix ins along the way. The oatmeal was followed my my usual drive in cup of coffee and multi-vitamin:
During the week, I always bring my lunch with me to work (unless I have a lunch meeting scheduled or am having a ridiculous morning and can’t figure out a lunch plan for the day). My coworkers joke that I can create a three course meal with a microwave and a toaster. Today’s lunch was much simpler than most lunch time creations:
I recently discovered Flat Out wraps: this one is stuffed with about 3 oz. of ham, sprouts, green peppers, hummus and a light Laughing Cow cheese wheel. Red grapes were on sale at Giant Eagle this week.
I was super focused this afternoon, until my stomach rumbled around 4:30PM. I knew I’d be at work late so I had a snack:
Around the time I was wrapping things up for the day, my husband called to say he was on his way home. He stopped at the grocery store while I got dinner ready:
Chicken sausages & pierogies are a favorite and quick weeknight dinner in our house. I love this dinner – it’s SO TASTY! My sausage was a feta and spinach chicken sausage from my favorite meat stand at the West Side Market, served with spinach and white cheddar pierogies. Plus I can’t have pierogies without some sautéed onions and green peppers! The husband had two mango chicken sausages from Trader Joe’s with garlic and potato pierogies. It was a beautiful night, so we were able to grill them outside: we have to enjoy these great fall nights before the Cleveland cold gets here!
now for a special treat for a regular wednesday:
Did you know on Wednesdays, Bakers Square celebrates Pie Rush Wednesdays, where they will give you a free piece of pie with the purchase of ANYTHING? Even just a cup of coffee! So my mom, husband and I jumped in the HHR and took advantage of this deal:
Found on The Fitnessita’s blog today: it’s Love Your Body Day! She encouraged her readers to list of some things we love about our body physically, and a step we’re going to take today to nurture our bodies and promote good health.
For me: I love what kickboxing has done for my legs. The definition I have from my knees down is pretty awesome in pair of good high heels!!
The step I am taking to nurture my body and promote good health: I am going to listen to my body to tell me when I am hungry, instead of giving into eating out of boredom or anxiety.
